Choosing a carved door starts with deciding what the door needs to do. An entrance shutter, an interior door and a decorative prayer-room door may share a motif, but their construction and installation requirements are different. Single or double entrance?
A single entrance door concentrates the composition on one shutter. A double entrance divides it between two leaves, so the centre joint, meeting edges and handle positions need consideration. Rather than stretching an image to fill an opening, the final drawing should rebalance the border and main motif around the measured size.
Record whether your measurement is the masonry opening, the clear opening inside an existing frame or the required finished shutter. These are not interchangeable. If a frame is included, specify that separately from the door leaf.
Pooja doors and temple doors
Prayer-space doors can use repeating panels, floral borders or a focal religious motif. IB-0273, the Wheel Motif Temple Door, is one reference for a repeated-panel composition. Select the design for its visual character, then confirm the required arrangement, proportions and details for your space.
Any religious symbols, lettering and orientation should be reviewed before the drawing is approved. If the reference contains details you do not want, identify them early. A decorative image does not establish fire performance, security performance or suitability for an exposed entrance.
Door frames are their own design decision
IB-0219, the Heritage Arch Door Frame, shows an ornamental top and side elements. Its available top-piece label must not be treated as the overall frame dimensions. Ask for a complete dimensioned drawing covering the opening, outer frame, section sizes and junctions before ordering a coordinated frame-and-door set.
Specify the build, not just the appearance
A wood-effect image cannot tell you whether the final item should be solid timber, an engineered shutter with a carved face or another agreed construction. Discuss the installation conditions, desired finish, hardware and weight with the maker. Starting thickness and deepest carving must be resolved together, rather than inferred from the photograph.
What to send for a quotation
Share the chosen code, measured opening, quantity, intended location and a photograph of the surrounding wall. Add your material preference, finish direction, delivery city and whether hinges, locks, frame and installation are required. For projects in Punjab and wider North India, the same brief helps define the work clearly before production and transport are agreed.
